Rainforest Adventures

Did you know that an extraordinarly windy day in Galveston equals sand in the eyeballs? It feels really good! Needless to say, the wind was enough to discourage us from going to the beach this morning (Thursday)...really big waves. So we headed down to the pool instead and Caleb put his sandtoys to good use there. He was quite happy and we enjoyed the morning. He got over his aversion to putting his face in the water and did it repeatedly...with his hands over his face and bending down in the shallow end. So cute!

Grammy and Pop brought Caleb's bike along and he was thrilled to get to ride it everywhere today. We took it with us to the seawall and after dinner, Pop walked and Caleb rode all the way back to our condo beside the beach. Caleb LOVED it!

After our lunch, we did go down to the beach so that Caleb could play in the sand. He didn't like how it kept blowing in his face, so we didn't stay too long. But Mom and I found some great shells and he still managed to get sand in every crevice! No matter how close we are to bedtime, Caleb HAS to have a bath every night!

The other day we drove past the Rainforest Cafe (with its outdoor waterfall) and Caleb declared that he wanted to eat there. So after sitting through multiple dinners at adult restuarants, we indulged our little dude. He even went on the rainforest ride with Mommy and Daddy (Gattitown aside, his first ride). It was sorta loud, so he spent the last half of it with his hands over his ears. But he said he liked it! And while he didn't like the indoor thunderstorms in the restaurant, he loved his Jurassic Dinosaur Tidbits and a visit with Cha!Cha!

(we sat beside the moving/talking elephants and Pop would play along every time-this is Pop as an elephant)

We are still having a great deal of fun and Brian and I got our date night!
xoxo
